Meet Mr. & Mrs. Rhinestone Axolotl — two imperfect pours that became one perfect little love story.
This one-of-a-kind handmade resin couple almost never made it out of Headquarters.
Mr. Rhinestone Cowboy emerged from his mold with trapped air bubbles that left imperfections along portions of his gills, back, tail and one tiny toe. Instead of sending him to File 13, we decided those imperfections deserved a little fairy magic.
Hand-placed rhinestones transformed his imperfect areas into sparkling details. A rhinestone trail follows the curve of his back and tail, his gills received their own touch of bling, and that imperfect little toe became something especially meaningful:
His wedding ring.
We finished his look with a brown cowboy hat and sparkling accent, turning him into our very own Rhinestone Cowboy.
Then came Mrs. Rhinestone Axolotl.
Mrs. wasn’t originally intended to become a finished art piece at all. Clear resin was poured into her mold to help remove leftover color-shifting pigment. When she was demolded, that remaining pigment had transferred unevenly, leaving her cloudy, blotchy and destined for File 13.
Until Mr. gave us an idea.
Instead of throwing her away, we gave her a transformation worthy of her Rhinestone Cowboy.
Her body was dressed in shimmering iridescent lavender rhinestones with sparkling diamond-style trim. Lavender bows adorn her head and tail, hand-painted facial details give her plenty of personality, and of course Mrs. needed a wedding ring of her own.
And let’s just say…
Mrs. wanted everybody to see her rock.
Together, Mr. & Mrs. Rhinestone Axolotl became something neither of their original pours suggested they could ever be: a completely unique handcrafted couple with their own personality, imperfections and love story.
They are sold only as a pair and will not be separated.
Because some things simply belong together.
Why They’re Special
Every rhinestone, bow and finishing detail was added by hand. Their original casting variations remain part of their character and their story rather than being hidden or represented as a flawless pour.
This exact set will never be duplicated.
